Master of Science in Polymer Chemistry & Process Analysis
For more than 30 years, Reutlingen University has been carrying out cutting-edge work in process analysis. It has many years’ experience teaching analysis and plastics engineers on its applied courses.
The master’s programme is aimed at students with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or life sciences. The programme is taught at the Process Analysis and Technology (PA&T) Teaching and Research Centre at the School of Life Sciences/Applied Chemistry at Reutlingen University.
Focused on partnerships and practical application
We have developed close collaborative relationships with universities and industry partners in Germany and abroad. In addition to our lecture and seminar series, we offer courses in our state-of-the-art process analysis and chemistry laboratories that use project-based learning (PBL) to give our students a strong vocational focus. The PBL strategy encourages independent, project-based ways of working which students then build upon in an extensive research project in their second semester. Students may focus on areas such as the development of innovative materials and process analysis methods for use in industry.
The degree programme aims to broaden students’ methodological and theoretical knowledge of polymer and composite technology, to develop their technical management expertise and to increase their understanding of analytical chemistry, with a particular focus on process analysis. The course fully prepares students for the start of their career and for further postgraduate study.
