Bachelor of Science in Chemistry & Sustainable Processes

NEW: STUDY FLEXIBLE - live at your hometown, study in Reutlingen: from summer semester 2022, the study programme will also be offered in hybrid form.

A degree focused on sustainability and taught over seven semesters

Students begin their studies by focusing on the fundamental principles of general, analytical, organic and physical chemistry as well as covering materials sciences and sustainable chemistry and processes. They then build on this foundational knowledge later on in their degree.
The two optional modules available explore the development of innovative materials and processes for different applications. Students are free to choose whether to focus on sustainable product development or quality management.

In the fifth semester, our students can do a semester abroad or they can satisfy their professional curiosity by undertaking an industry placement. If they are feeling particularly entrepreneurial, students can bring their own business idea to life in a start-up project.
Students write their bachelor’s thesis in their seventh semester, either at the university itself, in industry or with one of our research partners in Germany or abroad.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Science opens many valuable doors to industry, research and postgraduate study. We also offer doctoral positions with our partner organisations.
