A team of professors with industry and teaching experience guides our students through an attractive, application- and practice-oriented range of courses.

School Management

The school’s management makes strategic and operational decisions together with the committees at school and university level. The Dean and Vice-Deans are elected every four years by the School Council.

School Council

The School Council is made up of the group of professors and the elected representatives of the students and other employees. The School Council elects the Dean for a term of office of four years.

Tasks of the School Council:

  • Advising and deciding on the resources of the school (financial and material resources, personnel, premises)
  • Fundamental issues relating to research and teaching (creation, modification and cancellation of institutions and the adoption of study and examination regulations.

The School Administration is the central point of contact for all questions within the school. Our staff will be happy to help you or name the right contact person for specific questions.

Material distribution

The material issue centre of the School of Life Sciences is available to all employees of the university as part of their official duties.

Internships office

The Internships Office supports students in their independent search for an internship.

International study organisation

Whether it's an international study semester, internship semester or thesis: the Faculty of Life Sciences supports its students in choosing the right location abroad.

Marketing & PR

As the central office for external and internal communication at the School of Life Sciences, Marketing is the point of contact for press enquiries and the website. We are happy to provide you with information and scientific expertise.

The Student Committee consists of all students of the School of Life Sciences and is responsible for student self-administration and representing the interests of students at the university.

Activities

All students from the School of Life Sciences form the student committee. Members who hold an office and active students meet every two weeks to discuss current and important topics and find suggestions for improvement. Active student committee members and helpers are rewarded for their engagement with social credit points.

Activities of the student committee:

  • Open house day, study information days
  • Joint barbecues, bowling evenings, trips to the climbing park, parties
  • Stand at the Christmas market
  • 1st semester party, "1st semester weekend"
  • And many more
